With Product Readily Available, Pine-Sol® Original Multi-Surface Cleaner is Now Accessible to Help Prevent the Spread of COVID-19

NATIONWIDE – There’s another consumer product you might want to purchase to further safeguard your home from the novel coronavirus.

Pine-Sol’s original cleaner has been approved by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as a product that can kill the virus on hard, nonporous surfaces.

According to a press release, the product was tested by a third-party laboratory and was shown to be effective in killing the virus on surfaces within 10 minutes of application.

“One way to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 is to disinfect commonly used surfaces throughout your home. To disinfect against SARS-Cov-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, apply the Pine-Sol Original Multi-Surface Cleaner full-strength with a clean sponge or cloth on hard, nonporous surfaces,” the press release states. “Wet surface, let stand 10 minutes, and then rinse. For heavily soiled surfaces, precleaning to remove excess dirt first is required.”

Original Pine-Sol is just one of many products approved to kill the virus. Others include Lysol Brand All Purpose Cleaner and Clorox Healthcare Bleach Germicidal Wipes.
