Update on FedEx & UPS:

There has been significant increase in small package volumes across the entire Parcel Industry due to a shift in customer buying patterns, with a greater reliance on online and residential delivery . Essentially, FedEx& UPS are as busy now as peak seasons around the Holidays, and they’re actively trying to hire to keep up with current demand. At this time, we are being advised that beginning in late October and through the Holiday season that our customers may see impact to their service:

  • If typical transit time     is 1 or 2 days, you may expect to see a delay later into the day or     possibly the next day.
  • If typical transit time     is 3 days or more, you may expect to see a 1 to 2 day delay in delivery.
  • In all cases, tracking     information may take up to 24 hours to update and appear on either     tracking website due to the volume of processed orders.

Delays in delivery time are not expected for expedited services, such as 2nd day delivery, so this is a recommended option for time sensitive shipments, although a reminder that there is an additional cost for such services.
